Welcome back to my playthrough of Koriko: A Magical Year. In this entry, Giselle finds some trouble in the sewers below the city.
Index: Where to find all the entries
Dear Wanderer,
I was approached by you again. Something was wrong in the sewers. You asked me to help before it impacted the people of Koriko. Since the whole reason I came to Koriko was to learn and help others, I couldn’t deny such a request.
Venturing below the city, it wasn’t long until I saw what the problem was. I found spirits much like yourself, but they were angry. Vengeful. They took the form of alligators (or crocodiles I can never remember which is which). Someone, or multiple people, had been dumping dangerous waste into the sewers and it enraged the spirits who lived down here. With how bad it smelled I’d be angry too. It smelled worse than when Marble sprayed people.
I caught the attention of one of the spirits and it looked as if it wanted to attack so I fled before it could harm me or Marble. It sent a torrent of brown water our way, but I managed to hold it back with my own magic. The thought of being drowned in something so vile… It makes me queasy. After escaping the sewers, I realized I needed to clean the water if I wanted any chance of calming the spirits down. It took several days and about a hundred attempts, but I managed to craft a potion that I believed would work. After venturing back into the sewers, I poured my potion into the water. To my delight it cleaned the waste from the waters (or as much as can clean sewer water). The spirits were pleased and left their angry reptilian forms. You appeared again before me, thanking me for what I had done. You vanished before we could really speak, but I hope to see you again soon.
Though I wonder who made the sewers like that in the first place, and if they’d do something else foul like that again.
For some reason I really wanted to write about sewer alligators so here they are in all their glory.
Also a little bit of housekeeping, but for the remainder of my Koriko playthrough I’m planning on posting entries on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I’m mainly doing this to have some consistency on when I actually make posts as well as make things a little easier on myself.
Anyway, thank you to all who have read this so far and I hope you have an adventurous day!
I wasn't expecting Sewer Alligators, but I'm always happy to seem them haha. This was a neat entry, and an interesting thread for the future!
