Dear Wanderer,
Today I was in a park with an old, gnarled willow tree when I saw Augustine. He was with some people, one of them cooking on a portable grill. They were all laughing and seemed to be enjoying each other’s company. Augustine noticed me and waved me over. When I approached, his friends seemed a little wary of Marble, but I assured them she was a good skunk (she was offended they would think otherwise).
Augustine introduced me to all of his friends. Apparently, he knew them all before he was even mayor. The person cooking was named Jeramiah. He owned a restaurant that his son now managed. It’s called the Cat’s Tale. I recall even eating there a few times. The restaurant had caught fire once about a decade ago and was in danger of closing down, but Augustine rallied the community together to help pay for the repairs of the building (him contributing as well of course). Because of that the restaurant is still open today.
Augustine was telling me his friends meet up often now that they’re all retired. I could sense a deep comradery between them all. I wonder, and hope really, if I was ever in trouble, I’d get help from the people close to me too.
Old friends are something to cherish.
Thank you for reading thus far and I hope you all have a wonderful day.
Nice, he is living the dream - A full friendship group that lasts to retirement! I like how Koriko is slowly getting fleshed out through the prompts, not just with the characters from the cards, but also their own connections, making the town feel a bit more real and established!
