Dear Wanderer,
I started working for someone recently. Her name is Brie, and she is a well-known photographer here in Koriko. She hired me to help bring some new life to her photos. I felt a little demeaning to hired to use my magic for simple ‘special effects’. Unfortunately, money runs the world here and she offered a good amount, so it seemed wasteful to refuse. Brie wanted to do a photoshoot on the beach, so traveling we went.
The closest beach was a two day drive, so I made sure to pack plenty for the trip (and found a neighbor to check on my plants). Brie had a small team, and they all packed in her large brightly colored van. I rode on my trusty bike along side them.
Out on the road, it was easy to see why Brie’s team fawned over her so much. She was dazzling in a way. Her smile was bright, and her wavy hair shined like gold. Her silk blouse and skirt seemed to dance in the wind every time she stopped to take picture of something that caught her eye on our journey. Brie was clearly passionate about her art and found beauty in the whole world around her. People flocked to her because of her radiance and passion. People only seem draw to me because I’m a witch. Without my magic… what am I really? Would anyone ever love me like that regardless of if I had magic or not?
Seeing Brie’s passion for her work made me determined to go a good job for what she had hired me for. Unfortunately, I was so focused on how I would be of help that I misread a road sign and got us completely lost. I felt so bad I started crying. It was horribly embarrassing. Brie came to calm me down. She reassured me that it was okay. We were in no rush, and we’d find our way back. I felt even sillier after that, but I managed to collect my nerves, and we set out once more. Flying ahead I managed to find the correct route and we only arrived at our destination a few hours later than we thought. Helping with Brie’s photography was interesting. I’d never had my magic photographed before. Everyone was very kind and encouraging. It felt nice to shine under the sun’s rays too for once. I look forward to seeing how the photos turn out.
Quite fitting we meet the Sun Arcana during the month of Summer. Also it was at this point I realized I made a lot of the people Giselle meets artists. Can you tell I like art. Because I sure do like art.
Also sorry for setting a schedule and immediately not sticking with it. Work has been kicking my butt and didn’t have much energy last week. Played some more ironsworn and got a second wind so should be back on top of things hopefully.
Anyway, thank you as always for reading and I hope you all have a bright day!
I think a witch would fit in well with most artists I know. A nice chapter, showing Giselle is still a little insecure in the city, but powering through it!
